While watching this show on the Military Channel a few weeks ago I could not believe my ears when the narrator placed the Indianapolis 12N,135W when torpedoed.

Did I hear that right? I said to myself 137West???? I had to back that up.

Sure enough that is what he said. That would have placed the ship roughly south of Jueanu AK, and 12 degrees N. of the Equator.

Of course they made a serious blunder as the writer mistakenly or through flat ingorance had no clue about latitude and longitude.

The correct approximate location (until she is found) is 12N, 137East.
