My grandfather always told us that he was on the USS Indianapolis when it went down, and many stories of his survival.  Yet, he is not listed as being a crew member.  Can anyone give me any information, or ideas of where to go from here?  I would really love to find out more about him, and his service during the war.  He was from West Virginia, if that helps.  Thanks!
