Naval tragedy...

I have always been intrigued with the history behind this Naval tragedy, spending my career in the US Navy probably has a lot to do with the intrigue, but I can tell that I clearly became curious about it during the movie "Jaws" and the one scene that describe it so vividly.  At the time I was only 13 and it made such an impact on me then that I've carried that curiosity around for many, many years.  The tragedy, ship and her crew throughout my Navy career were always discussed with much emotion and respect.  With the films and books that have been put forth over the years they have only heightened my curiosity.  The latest depiction coming out this summer will be another attempt to capture the honorable horror that these men went through and endured.  My wish, is that this generation could one day reflect on the bravery this crew displayed and learn from their stories.  God speed to all the fallen, remaining crew and family members.
