The men who served under Captain Mcvay and those who endured the sinking and the families of those who did not, have my utmost respect and admiration. Those who were lost, my heart does hurt for them and again for the families. It was war and those who sat in their comfortable offices and passed the blame so they could go home and claim to be heros, you are or were disgraceful and despicable. One day there will be judgement. I am sorry that the Enola Gay is in a museum and the ship that made the end come so much quicker and safer is at the bottom of the ocean. I do hope it will be found this year for history's sake. I cannot imagine the horrors you endured then or those that have followed since. I salute you and I am proud to know you were protecting our lives with yours. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
