Death of Survivor Harlan Twible
Permalink Closed

It is with a heavy heart that I pass on the news that USS Indianapolis Survivor Harlan Twible passed away this week on April 8, 2018.    Although he had a long, blessed life of 96 years, it is never easy to say goodbye to a friend.

Harlan was a young Annapolis trained Ensign aboard the ship, and one of the few officers that survived.

Here is an interview that he did for the National World War 2 Museum.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5U28hFNQ_k

May his family find comfort in their fond memories. and may our hero rest in peace.

Sadly, there are now only 16 living Survivors.

Sincerely

Maria Eck Bullard

Daughter of USS Indianapolis Survivor Harold Eck

Chairman, USS Indianapolis Second Watch Organization
