My name is David Mack, I am the son of Donald F. Mack-Bugler 1, a survivor of this horrific disaster! My father is and always will be my hero! As all of you survivors are (heroes!). I am not sure if any of you have been watching the special on PBS "The War," but last night, there was a segment about the "Indy," delivering her cargo to tinian, and being sunk before reaching Guam. The person who was interviewed was Maurice Bell-S1, he did an excellent job of recounting the events. Also did an excellent job throughout the 10 Segment series of the Indy's involvement at Saipan, Tinian, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. I cannot imagine what you gentleman went through during these horrific times. All I can say is "God Bless You" for doing what you had to do to give me my freedom, and I am very thankful that you are survivors. Those of your crew who were less fortunate, will always be remembered.....they are "Still at Sea" and will never be forgotten.
and will never be forgotten.
