My Dad's name is Bertner Gamble Griscom. He is alive and well in Houston, TX. I am very happy to have found this site! I have been interested in the legend of the Indianapolis since I heard about it from the movie "JAWS" in '76. I will be happy to correspond with any survivors or other interested parties. Lana, I am Jim Sherrard sherrard@airmail.net, my father was a US Marine in the Pacific also, he made landings at Saipan, Tinian, Okinawa, and several other island. His name Robert M. Sherrard (R. M. Sherrard), he passed away in 1994 at the age of 80.
