Check out the article attached below about Mike & Lorain Kuryla and the honor they were given yesterday in Chicago! Be sure to click on the video arrow on the right to watch the news story as well!
Mike & Lorain were chosen amongst over 1.5 million Veterans in the State of Illinois to be honored for their service in the military and their continued community service. As you know, Mike is a Survivor of the sinking of the USS Indianapolis and Lorain served in both World War II and the first Iraq War.
CONGRATULATIONS to Mike & Lorrain - two wonderfully humble heros that continue to give back to their community!
My 14 year old daughter and I had the great pleasure and honor of meeting Mike and his wife Lorain last night before he spoke at the New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks, CT. He's a wonderful speaker. About 100 or so people attended, half the room were Veterans of various ages. We felt privilegd to be amoung such great heros, all of which must have their own stories to tell. You could hear the WWII men all chatting between each other and anyone that was just nearby - all telling their stories of what they saw and did. It made us proud to be Americans and more proud of them....the true heros of the Greatest Generation. It was an evening my daughter and I will never forget.
