I am not sure who to talk to, but the survivors list is wrong, I am the daughter of Ray Keith La Grange and he was one of the servivors of the USS Indianapolis. I have read many articles and his name keeps being left out. I have documentation and pictures. My father fought for his country and should be remembered for doing so. Please direct me to the right area so I can make sure my father is honored with the rest. He passed away 4 years ago, this is very important to me.
Thanks Suzanne La Grange

Several people have had the same question and from what I am told, this list is the official list that the US Navy has issued.
In order to update the list, the first step would be to make a request for your loved ones military records. Once this is obtained, you can go from there, but that is the first and most vital step.
To do so, follow these steps:
Write to National Personnel Records Center Military Personnel Records 9700 Page Ave. St. Louis MO 63132-5100 Ask them for Form #180 which is a request for records.
Fill out and return. They will send you a NA Form #13075 (National Archives Record Form).
Fill out this form which is more complete than first one.
Mail it back to them. THERE WILL BE COSTS CONNECTED WITH THIS, BUT THEY ARE REASONABLE FOR A REVERED DOCUMENT OF YOUR FAMILY HISTORY.
