Hi, I am new to this but I would like some info please. I live in Tombstone, Arizona and my wife and I like going to the thrift stores in the area. We were in a Sierra Vista, AZ thrift store and I found a blue baseball cap with the USS INDIANAPOLIS on it. I know of the history of the INDIANAPOLIS so I picked it up. Before I put it on, I looked inside the cap, and it read " JAMES E O'DONNELL WT3 SURVIVOR" I didn't put the cap on, and came home to do some research. I now have this cap in a display in my store in Tombstone along with a picture of Mr. O'Donnell and a model of the INDIANAPOLIS. I am interested to know if Mr. O'Donnell lives in Arizona and how this cap came to end up in a thrift store. Any info would be appreciated! I would like to contact Mr. O'Donnell regarding this cap if possible. Thank you

Survivor Jimmy O'Donnell lives in Indianapolis. It doesnt surprise me that you found a cap autographed by him in Arizona though! He autographs and sells many items - caps, books, etc. He does alot of presentations about his experience as well.
Sad to think that this was in a thrift store, but guess someone bought it or was given it as a gift and decided they no longer wanted it. What a treasure you found.
