Chief,
My name is Richard George. My uncle was Gabriel V. George. He passed away in 1989 in Canton, Ohio. His wife, Donna, is still living in Canton. She is 84. He used to talk to me a lot about his days on the USS Indianapolis. He had a lot of fond memories of his time on the ship and the crew. My wife and I had the opportunity to visit the Admiral Nimitz museum in Fredericksburg, TX a few years ago and saw on the Wall of Honor in the Peace Garden, the plaque dedicated to the USS Indianapolis. It reminded me of the times I had with my Uncle. I hope this info helps some in your search for survivor's history.
thankyou
