A survivor of the crew is a member of our church and in the hospital.  He is not much of a church goer and I do not know him that well.  The prognosis for long term must not be good and with HIPPA I am reluctant to give his name.

I would like advice. 

Do the survivors or supporters ever send cards or have an organized process in these situations?  I can ask his daughter to get permission from him, but I thought something spontaneous might be nice.

Then again if he is a loaner, I do not want to disturb him........
