Just finished the Doug Stantonbook IN Harm's Way-----remember my dad , who was in rhe AAF 3rd Emergency Resue Squadron which helped in the rescue, telling me about it before he died.  Never spoke much about his military life until right before h edied and in fact never flew another airplane as long as he lived.  He was not involved in this rescue.
