Hi there my name is Chris and I live in Alberta Canada. I just finished reading the incredible story of the Indy. I am speechless on this subject. As a young man myself I hate to see all around us everyday people taking everything for granted...thinking we have life so tough. This story should be read in schools to remind us that these men, these young men gave everything for us, all of us. I couldn't imagine myself or anyone I know being able to survive somthing like this. Men like you are few and far between these days. Thanks isn't enough.

Another book you might enjoy is my book, "60 Years Later." It's about one of the rescuers of the USS Indianapolis survivors, William Van Wilpe, of the USS Bassett. He dove into the shark infested watwers to pull survivors to safety. He was awarded the US Navy & Marine Corps Medal for Heroism.
William livers in my town and I conducted several interviews with him to obtain his incredible story. It's available on Amazon.com
Check it out on Facebook - 60 Years Later

Thanks for the reply and the book recomendation. That is great that you have someone like that so close to you. The stories these people hold are just incredible and sadly are dissappearing.
