today in angola indiana as i was entering a bank i had the gift of meeting a gentelman that was a survivor of the U.S.S. Indianapolis. I am 41 years old and have watched several documentaries on this important point in history but i have never been fortunate to meet a survivor. The pride and warmth i felt shaking his hand will never be replaced. Thank you to all that gave for me to be here and free.

That would most likely have been Survivor Donald Beaty.  A fine gentleman and true American Hero.
