Willie Cairo was a great Uncle to me. I have some history on him including that he was a pretty good baseball player. Volunteered to go to War and was the only brother not to return. Would like to know if he was lost in the water or went down with the ship. Anyone that knew him or stories would be greatly appreciated to share with my children.
I'm a former Navy veteran myself and have researched the Indy story for several years. My heart goes out to the all veterans, particularly the ones on this great ship.
Thanks,

I think you'll have to contact some survivors about that and see if they saw him in the water. Because many bodies were sunk or eaten, it is almost impossible to know who went down and who made it off the ship.
