Yesterday May 29 my Son was visiting the WWII memorial. I was touched by this not realizing the full story. Today I got up and went to get my morning coffee at Starbucks and Googled the story of the Indianapolis and I tell you it nearly brought me to tears. Oh my GOD I know this story I had read about it and also seen the movie. I will never ever forget this again. As a proud Sailor retired, I have a proud heritage and history of the greatest NAVY in the history of the world. The photo below was sent to me by my Son who was visiting the memorial and the photo of Milton Robert Wittmer USN EM2/C I am so humbled but proud of my NAVY heritage. And in particular of the men who served proudly aboard the USS Indianapolis CA-35. And here we today mark the 67th anniversary of the USS Indianapolis Disaster may we all NEVER FORGET those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for this great nation we live in, and to the many family and relatives may GOD continue to Bless you and the United States NAVY. And may GOD continue to Bless the United States of America.
