I am interested to talk to a survivor that knew my uncle, Russell "Rusty" Brandt, also a survivor.   I would not take a great deal of anyone's time but would like to be able to get a little more information about my uncle's service on the ship from someone that served with him.  I live in the Chicago area and would be willing to travel to meet anyone with first person experience about my uncle.   I want to put together a short history for our family to memorialize his efforts and experience in the history making events that the ship was involved in during WW II.  Thanks in advance for anyone with information on someone to help me in this effort.
