Did anyone know Freddie H. Pyron from Tyler Texas who perished on the USS Indy? I have an original poster that commemorates his service on the USS Indy. The poster has an original black and white photograph of him pasted in the center along with his service record neatly written in at the bottom. I came into possession of this poster through a gentleman who found it in a fruit crate as in fill. He was considerate and sensitive enough to realize its value to save it and try to pass it along to a family member. I have tried to get someone at the USS Indy museum exhibit in Indianapolis to figure out the poster provenance but so far no one there has gotten back to me on the matter. They do have an electronic copy of it for reproduction but I still don't know if the poster has become part of the permanent display.
