I am a college student doing a research paper on Capt. McVay. I am trying to locate the original court martial transcripts. Does anyone know where I might find these?
Thanks! All help is appreciated!

I would think your biggest hurdle would be if the court records are still sealed. Since McVay was tried (unjustly) in a military court, it has different rules from civilian courts. They're not public records like a trial transcript from US district court would be. Every branch of the service has an archives for research, I would start with Dept. of the Navy's website -- use the 'net as much as you can. If you don't results, run into some brick walls, then I would contact your Congressman for help. As a last resort you could try a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request. All those come to mind off top of my head.
