My father was Chaplain J W Landrum at Mare Island.  I am wondering if anyone remembers him.  He recounted to us that only one time was he taken to a ship out in the channel to conduct a chapel service for the crew.  That ship was the USS Indianapolis before they got under way to deliver the atomic bomb.  I would be grateful to hear any memories you may have of dad.
