I am currently reading In Harm's Way.   So far, I have been riveted to the story line and I am finding myself becoming more and more emotionally involved with each page I turn.  I will not only share what I've read with my students, I will recommend that they buy themselves a copy for their permanent home libraries, as I have done.  I had no idea of the magnitude of the events that transpired that horrible day and in the days that followed.  I will never forget what I have read.

My book has just been published entitled, 60 Years Later, by Tom Balunis.  It is the true story about a WWII hero in our town who received the US Navy and Marine Corps Medal for Heroism in 2005.  I am a Councilman in our town and I helped get William Van Wilpe his medal.  He is mentioned in the book - In Harm's Way - as the farm boy from NJ who dove overboard and saved 3 guys at once.  It's mentioned in a letter by Ensign L Peter Wren.

I have spoken to Doug Stanton.  He 's met Bill Van Wilpe.  Anyway, my book is on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.  If you are a history buff like me, I'm sure you would enjoy it.  Tom Balunis
