BRAVERY AT SEA

I watched a special last night called the "Search for the USS Indianapolis" and was fascinated by the telling of such a tremendous story and acts of bravery beyond all comprehension.  I cannot fathom the terrible ordeal that these men, most of them very young, went through.  And I was amazed that 4 of the survivors, decades later, boarded a research vessel, sailed back out to that powerful sea in search of their lost ship.  They did not find the ship but they did achieve the primary objective of their mission...to put to sea a memorial for all those who served and who were lost on the USS Indianapolis.

I have to say that I was infuriated by the response of the Navy by court martialing Captain McVay.  The survivors fought bravely and tirelessly to have him exonerated.  What loyalty and strength and integrity these men possessed.  I had to learn more about them so I found your website and read all of the survivor stories.  Thank you so much for honoring the crew of the Indianapolis and educating this generation about their sacrifice.  It should never be forgotten.  My prayers to those who survived and to the families of those who did not.   God bless you all.
