Survivor Interview - 1960 Clifton IL
Permalink Closed

The following article is an interview that my grandfather first gave to his local newspaper, the Clifton Advocate in 1960, just after the first survivor reunion.

Hi Jack,

I came across this particular site, by accident.  I have found several books on the sinking of the Indianapolis, and have purchased at least 2, which have been very interesting.  I have been looking for additional information on Russell "Rusty" Brandt.....I am related to Rusty through marriage to his wife Rita.....so, you and I are also cousins.  Your Dad, Tom, and I went to high school together, though I think I am about 3 years older than he is.  We were in band together, and played coronet.  We sat next to each other.  I have been wanting to get in touch with him, but had no idea where he had moved.  I would have sent you just an e-mail, but did not know how to do it from this site.  Anyway, I hope we can correspond.  I was so happy that you posted the interview that your grandfather gave to the Clifton paper.  I had not been able to find that.
