Looking for a crew member on board March 31, 1945

I'm tryng to verify a story that an old sailor told me about the Indianapolis.  Then story is related to the bomb damage that she sustained on March 31, 1945.  Where did she go for temporary repairs?  How long did the repairs take?  Do you know the extent of what was repaired?
