I am pleased to tell all on this web site, that on Monday August 23, 2010 I am going to enjoy the priviledge of meeting survivor Harold Bray for the first time. Information has reached me that he is a baseball fan so I invited he and his family to be my guest in attending the Giants versus Cincinnati Reds game here at AT&T Park in San Francisco. He accepted enthusiastically so I will guarantee him good seats and a good time. I wish I could reach out to more such fine and deserving gentlemen!

I am sure his family enjoyed it almost as much as Harold did. He was given a Giants' jacket, pressnotes and saluted on the scoreboard. It was the least I could do for this wonderfuol and derserving gentleman. I shall look forward to our next meeting.

Thank you for the acknowledgement and kind words.

Tony, I spoke to Harold and he had a blast at the game.  And the Giants won 11-2 to make it a perfect evening.  He really appreciated the special treatment you extended to him & his family...the jacket, the hats, the message on the scoreboard.  But most of all, he spoke about how much he enjoyed the conversation you had with him.  Thanks so much.  It was a wonderful thing you did for one of the men of the USS Indianapolis!

The pleasure was all mine. He was a delightful gentleman, easy to talk to who spoke unimpeded about those days. His family was also quite charming, alive and easy to talk to. I shall look forward to the next conversation, perhaps at dinner in the near future.

I would very much like to do more for this group of special people and am available to assist in any way I can.

Thanks for the note.

TONY

Hello. My name is Dallas Cody Gates, great-nephew of James B. Barrett. Harold Bray contacted me a few years ago stating that he was good friends with my great-uncle. I am active duty Navy enlisting June 1997. Recently I have been graced with being stationed in Monterey, CA at the Naval Post Graduate School. I know that Mr. Bray lives near San Francisco about an hour and half north. I would love to be able to contact Mr. Bray or even visit to learn more about my great uncle.

Thank you.
