Help me get information on my dad....Kenneth Maxwell Bays

All of my life I have been told that my dad was on this ship when it sank.  He survived and spent almost a year recovering in a psychiatric naval ward in Hawaii, he never fully recovered.  His name was Kenneth Maxwell Bays.  I do not see him on the survivor list on here.  Does anyone have any information about him???  It would mean a lot to me to find out more about what he went through and it would help me to understand why he was so broken in life when I knew him.  Thank you so much.

On the final sailing list, I do not see anyone by that name. What you need to do it go to the below site and print out the form to request his military records. From there, you can see exactly which ship he was on, discharge dates, etc.
