Death of USS Indianapolis Survivor Donald Beaty

Just received more sad news that we lost another dear USS Indianapolis Survivor last week:  Donald Beaty of Angola, Indiana.  
May he rest in peace.
 
Donald L. Beaty, 87, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at Visiting Nurse And Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, Donald worked as a Industrial Insulator with Close Insulation for 30 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Past Commander of the Navy Club and American Legion Post 82 and District Commander of 4th District. VFW Post 827 , Moose 566 Auburn, Masonic Lodge 733 F &AM, , Local 41 Union, U S Navy WW II veteran and a USS Indianapolis CA-35 survivor and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was also employed with International Harvester for 2 years, His faith in God, was strengthened after the sinking of his ship. He is gone to meet the 880 that went down in July 1945. Surviving are his daughters, Carolyn Beaty of Edgerton, OH, Kelly Beaty and Barbara McDowell both of Fort Wayne. son Kenneth Beaty of Fort Wayne, 7 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren . Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Blanche "Bea" Beaty and brother Larry Beaty. Funeral Service is Friday, 2:00 pm, March 30, 2012 at - D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue. Calling Thursday, March 29, 2012 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm . Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
