I was named after "John Aldon" in 1946. He was my cousin and our families were very close. He was always called "Aldon". I was close to his mother Pearl Firmin & father Lenny Firmin. His brother "Marion" was killed in a motorcycle accident in the 1950s. Another tragedy for the family. Marion was also a Veteran of WWII.

The most difficult thing for them was never having his body returned. It's a shame that we didn't have computers & internet back in the 1950s so they could have this memorial. Both his parents are now deceased.

The one story that has stuck with me is that his mother told us that his beloved cat disappeared on the same day of the sinking of the ship.

It's nice to be able to memorialize Aldon in this way after all these years.

Thanks

John Aldon Barron
