USS Indianapolis Memorial Grove

We are developing a new botanical garden (www.montereybaybotanicalgarden) which will have a Memorial Garden attached to it.  We would like to memorialize the men of the USS Indianapolis (and others).  Interested persons who have records of the men who both died, and survived, should contact us to get this underway.  Hopefully, some of the still living survivors would be able to be at the dedication.  Contact us at mbbg2012@hotmail.com, attention Cal Andrus (USAF/Retired).

If you google The final crew of USS Indianapolis you will find the list of both survivors and deceased. Hope that helps.

I am the daughter of a USS Indianapolis Survivor. I am assuming this garden is in Monterey California? My father had a dear friend that was a fellow survivor from Monterey California - Grover Carver. He passed away in 2008, but I believe his wife still lives in Monterey. The wife of rescue pilot Chuck Gwinn also lives in California. I"d love to get more information on this garden and perhaps photographs to share with my email list of the USS Indianapolis families and friends! My email is BullardMBullard@aol.com. And please let me know if I can assist in any other way!
Thanks again for such a lovely tribute to the men of the Indy!
