questions regarding survivor by the name of James A. Beane F2
Permalink Closed

I have been facinated with the story of the USS Indianapolis since it was introduced to me by my high school history teacher.  I went out and bought the book.  I still have it "somewhere"...I searched for years to find the movie they made once I heard of it.  I have recently started looking into my geneology history & as always, I find myself coming back in some way to this story and what it means to ALL of us. And the one survivor's name in the back of that book I bought all those years ago with that asterik listing him as a survivor. James A Beane, F2.  My maiden name is Beane.  I have often wondered if we were in some way related?  If anyone can help, or has any ideas on how I can start to look into this, please send me your suggestions.  I appreciate your assistance in advance!! :)

The only information that I have is that his full name was James Albert Beane is that his address when he enlisted was Eatonville, WA (I would guess that was in the 1940s). He passed away in November 2000. I am not sure where he was living after the war and at the time of his death though. Hope that gives you a glimmer of help?!?!?
Perhaps a start with a Google search with his full name would give you some more info? Often an obituary will pop up, especially if you search under his name and USS Indianapolis. (assuming the family added that to the obit) Good luck - keep me posted!
